“God is the center of my life”
Kesworth (Kes) Copeland was born on October 24th, in the south of Manchester, Jamaica. At an early age, Kes was an honor student in musical arts at Cross Keys Secondary School. Excelling in different genres such as Reggae, Gospel, Jazz and R&B, Kes’ voice reached to the hearts of many and he began learning the guitar and the piano. Encouraged throughout his childhood, at the age of 15, his music teacher along with other staff members, pushed Kes to join the JCDC Festival (Jamaica Cultural Development Committee). Kes then continued his journey and graduated with one of the most prestigious scholarships in 1990 for the West Indies College High in music.
After migrating to Canada in the mid 90’s, Kes joined the Montreal Tribulation Gospel Choir and enhanced his musical strength with a team of talent. He networked and was given opportunities to work with several known artists, sharing the stage with legends such as Sanchez, Ken Booth, Beres Hammond, Mikey Dangerous, Terry Linen, Cece Winans, Kymani Marley, Shuga Minnot, Frankie Paul and Donnie McClurkin to name a few. “Keep singing, long life, ‘nuff respect. Bless” says Sanchez. Based on his background, skills and musical experiences, Kes’ exposure to influential music has been instrumental in his creative style. His motivational messages and his own work serve as a testament to his personal triumphs.
Now teamed up with Lock & Key Entertainment, Kes is ready to show the world once more, there is hope in every struggle, there is love from God and there is positive in every message. So let there be music.
